1. Hand-wash immediately after use. Use a mild detergent and a soft sponge. Avoid the dishwasher — the high heat, pressure, and contact with other dishware can damage the edge and dull the Damascus pattern over time.
2. Dry it right away. Even high-quality stainless layers can develop spotting or discoloration if left wet. Wipe the blade completely dry with a soft cloth before storing it.
3. Store it away from other metal. Tossing your knife into a drawer with other utensils is one of the fastest ways to chip the edge. A wooden knife block or magnetic rack keeps the blade protected and easy to reach.
